The Piccadilly line is the dark blue one on the London Underground tube map also known as the tourist tube as many of its stations are close to London’s top tourist attractions including Harrods, Hyde Park, Buckingham Palace, Piccadilly Circus (after which the Piccadilly line is named), Leicester Square and Covent Garden.
The Piccadilly line also serves the busiest airport in the world (by number of international passengers), Heathrow Airport.
The Piccadilly Line is the second longest tube line after the Central Line with 25 of the 53 stations on the Piccadilly Line being underground. The line is the 5th busiest on the London Underground based on the number of passengers using it each year.
It is mainly a deep-level line, running from the north to the west of London via Zone 1, with a number of surface sections mostly on the Uxbridge Branch (shown below).
