Being one of the most expensive cities in the world, it’s no surprise that London is home to some of the world’s most expensive restaurants.
If you love luxury and decadence you may well be wondering which is the most expensive restaurant in London and you may well be correct if you guessed it was Restaurant Gordon Ramsay; likely to be the single most expensive restaurant in the city.
Famed chef Gordon Ramsay opened the restaurant on Royal Hospital Road in Chelsea in 1998. Within just 3 years, the restaurant was awarded a 3 star Michelin rating, which it retains today. Combining gourmet cuisine, elegance and top-notch service, Restaurant Gordon Ramsay is a truly remarkable restaurant.
For £185 (without wine), you can enjoy the seven course Season Inspiration menu consisting of:
- Poached Scottish lobster tail with lardo di colonnata, vegetables and coral vinaigrette
- Poached hen’s egg, smoked potato ravioli with parmesan emulsion and shaved white truffle
- Pig’s trotter stuffed with veal sweetbread, parsley, Dijon mustard, warm apple sauce and Waldorf salad
- Roased grouse with foie gras, savoy cabbage, Scottish girolles, liver pâté and bread sauce
- Warm Vacherin Mont d’Dor baked with white wine, rosemary, thyme and garlic
- Green apple and lime sorbet with shiso, avocado and eucalyptus
- White truffle, white chocolate and hazelnut mille-feuille with milk ice cream
Not all meals at the restaurant are quite as expensive. The Set Lunch menu, three courses for £45, is a bargain in comparison.
If you are able to get reservations at the restaurant, don’t expect that the famous chef will be the one preparing your food. These days Gordon Ramsay is more likely to be shouting obscenities on television than cooking up gourmet cuisine in one of his eight restaurants in London.
