With the rise in popularity of Amy Winehouse, and of course her tragic death, there has been an exponential surge in interest in London jazz bars.
Amy Winehouse was a huge fan of London jazz bars frequenting many of them on a regular basis. I am sure the music and atmosphere must have provided inspiration behind the creativity that contributed to her award winning music.

Telephone: +44 (0) 20 7352 5953
It would be difficult to talk about jazz venues in London without mentioning the 606 Club, though you can’t exactly call it a “jazz bar” because licensing only allows the club to serve alcohol to non-members with a full meal. 606 does prepare some great dishes, making this a great venue to enjoy a meal along with some music.
After gaining such popularity that it outgrew its original location on King’s Road in Chelsea, the 606 Club relocated to the larger location on Lots Road in the late 80s. Today, the Club hosts two bands a night Tuesday and Wednesday and one band Thursday to Monday, meaning a total of 10 bands are showcased each week. Booking in advance is essential on weekends.
